The Arenal Observatory Lodge was actually born out the very humble buildings
originally erected to house scientists and researchers from the Smithsonian
Institute and Earthwatch. It is the best place to experience the thrill
and beauty of the Arenal Volcano because of its location, its long history
as a research center and the knowledge and the experience of its staff
and guides. The Arenal Observatory Lodge has 29 spacious rooms divided
in 14 Smithsonian rooms, 9 Standard rooms, 4 comfortable rooms housed
in La Casona building, White Hawk Villa and Trogon and Toucan villa.
As part of its facilities, this lodge offers pool, jacuzzi, walking
trails, green areas and tours to Arenal Volcano National Park and others.
